Many have watched the commercial of LBC, with Edu Manzano as the host in the Spelling Bee asking the kid to spell,REMITTANCE. Then, this cute little boy spelled REMITTANCE as capital LBC. This is the first leg of the said commercial. As days went by, more versions of this advertisement came out in the television. Words like INSTANT and AFFORDABLE, are also spelled by kids as LBC. Furthermore, all incorrectly spelled words by these kids were according to the spelling bee show host in the commercial, Mr. Manzano, "TUMPAK".

Well, we are also aware that a large number of kids watch television nowadays. And this kind of advertisement could poison their young minds and understand that LBC is the right spelling for words mentioned in the commercial. Adults may understand that this is only for advertisement, yet, children may take it seriously. I am pretty sure that most people would have the same perception as mine. In fact, our whole family is not favor of viewing this commercial. Probably one day, no one knows, we'll see children's spelling of REMITTANCE,INSTANT,AFFORDABLE as capital LBC. Funny for us adults and teens, yes. But it seems so poor for children.

point 1: Commercials are very influential.
point 2: Advertisement of LBC is improper.

Well then, I think, the only remedy that parents, adults, teenagers, could do is to let their kids understand that this commercial is incorrect. Guide among children is necessary.

That's exactly what money can do to a person. No matter how disgraceful an act could be (as for Edu Manzano accepting a role that made him twice as stupid as that kid in the ad), basta't PERA okay lang. Ganun ba yun Edu?

What happened to our Board of advertiser? How come these kinds of advertisements are allowed to be aired when it clearly is a violation of RA 7394 - The Consumer Act of the Philippines, on False, deceptive and misleading advetisement?

Is this the kind of e-ducation we are giving our kids?
